Page Update -#161

Hello and welcome to Wednesday. Today is a day of Doctor's appointments. My new son is going in for his two week check up. He seems to be doing fine and he continues to grow. I am getting used to a few hours of sleep each night again.

I am helping my wife by taking one to two feelings each night so that she can get some sleep. So as you may have notice I'm obsessing over sleep, so today's poem is going to be about sleep, or in my messed up case, insomnia. How can one be soon tired and be unable to sleep?!

I will continue to be more regular with my posts. I am working on a Chapbook and would like it to be made available as an rebook shortly.

Till next time.

Thomas

Sleep
Elusive to get
Within minutes purged and refined
Echoes of me
Rebounding against seas
Of mint chocolate chip ice cream
Unknown depths of time
Between 3am and infinity
I wait for it
Passive grasping of
Long blinks

Warning New Poem- #160

All about anyone
Based by business
Cancerous cessation causes
Damaged dominant domiciles
Elongated entrapped electrodes
Fornicating from fevered
Gashes, garders graded grossly,
Harvested harshly, hazardous
Ironwoods irrelevant
Just joined jacket
Keep kids crazy
Loved lost limits
Most mundane music
Noxious ndomo knowing nothing
Of officious orifaces
Pupated pundits
Quake and quack
Riding riotous rodeos
Sacrificed supremacy
Through tired trouty traps
Unxious unclouded uncles
Veritable video visit
Writhed wrongly, wildly
Xenophobic Xerox
Yonder years
Zero zone of zombies
Clustering my minds eye

New Arrival

Hello. Long time no post. I'd promise to go back to daily posts, but I cannot guarantee that. My son was born a week ago and that makes life super interesting right now.

I'm working on a Poetry Chapbook, but I'm not sure if anyone would want it.

I'll post with more information as it comes closer.

See you soon.

Lonely
and
I'm still waiting for
my life
is so much better now that
I'm going to run for the rest of the year before that the government of
national reconciliation
in my head.
You are the only thing that would have to
go back
and I don't think
that I have a great way
for a few weeks of
it was the best of them in your
heart and I love you
so much for the next two years of
my life and death
of your life and death
of a good day
for a while
I have a great way
to get the same
time

Warning:  There is no poetry past this point.  You have been warned.

It's August 8th, 2015. A lot has happened since the last time I posted anything. If I had followers, they are gone.

It doesn't matter.

I never hit my 365 poems goal, but that's okay, 158 isn't anything to shake a stick at.

I'm 57 days till I have a new child. I'm excited.

I'll try to post again soon.

Sincerely,
Thomas

#155 - 158

The Best of Times

Fallen leaves, decaying matter,
Sweet sensations, Fry batter,
Carnival barkers, Illicit thrills,
Popping oil, Flashing lights,
The best of times.

Other children shouting, Other Parents smiling,
Fumes of funnel cakes, Iridescent bulbs aglow,
Other smiling couples, Other happy families,
Darts popping balloons, Hammers hitting bells,
The best of times.

Envious sadness, Thoughts despair,
Wishing for more, Accepting less,
The best of times.

Birthdays

The child blows the
Cake with candles ablaze-
Yesterday's gifts today.

Springtime

Dandelion fluff frames your face
While the wind flutters and dances
Hundreds of cascading parachutes flying.

You smile, I have lost.

Losing has never felt so good.

#152 - 154

Loss

In my youth, I denied Wisdom's bosom.
Stretching clumsy thoughts
Through warrens of ignorance;
I embraced self-absorption.

Seek

I seek you now,
          when all is lost.
This bosom, in younger moods,
           I did spurn.
Through youthful arrogance
           I did elope.

But now,
           with wishes and dreams decayed,
I seek
the paths and treads of happier times.
I seek forgiveness,
           an welcoming embrace,
I find ashes.

Carnival

Clamor of ringing bells,
Tin-like shrills and metallic whistles,
Percussive tapping,
Child's laughter
Cheap thrills
Silences

#149-151

Summertime

Daisy blossums sway
while the North wind blows -
Reaper's scythe cuts

Donkeys

A herd of donkeys
Graze among  meadow grass-
thistle blooms in stones

Apathy

I do not know the answer.
The questions rest upon my lips,
never asked.

Fear petrifies me.
Anger stalls me.

All is lost

A few days and a few hundred poems to go

For the next few days I will posting a number of poems without any day-to-day information behind them. The key is to make sure that I reach 365 poems by the anniversary of my first post of 06-14-2013. Currently I have 148 poems. So 217 poems in 19 days, no biggy.

Anyways, wish me luck.

#148 - Questioning

Reaching aspects of loneliness
Desiring aspects of comfort
Unknowable aches surround me
Unwanted knowledge consumes me

I sing the song of whippoorwills
The death stalkers croon
Giving way to deaths desires
Receive the comfort of
A cold bosum

Warning:  There is no poetry past this point.  You have been warned.

Today is May 11, Mother's Day in the United States.

I have been spending the weekend with my beautiful wife and mother of my daughter.  Sorry for the small updates.

Till tomorrow,

Thomas

#147 - 20/20

These cloudy eyes of mine
perceive the thoughts of numbness
from those who deceive

#146 - Giving Up

I ask questions to unwanted answers
then cringe when I receive them

I seek the pieces to lost horizons
then gasps when I perceive them

I grasp at unraveling strand
then silence as I release them

#145 - Sallowness

Acrid yellow glimmers of soul seeking ghasts
stretching across mind-swept acreage
laying on slabs of concrete nothingness

#144 - Falling down

Boredom excites the mind to new heights
one falls
through sliding hoops of glimmering gossamer
and fiberace floss

Writhing in agony of ignorant wraiths
call upon unknown demons
unwanted angels

Gone to sleep amongst ashes of broken dreams

#143 - Soaring

Wind snaps
sun burns -
the walker pants

Warning: There is no poetry past this point.  You have been warned.

Today is May 7th.  Today was a sleepy day.  Because I have to work this weekend, I took today off.  We, as a family, had every intention to wake early, go to the zoo, go get Mother's Day cards, and take care of some shopping...well, that didn't happen.

My daughter, who normally wakes up around 6am, didn't wake until 7:30.  My wife didn't wake up till 10:30.  Then it was time for lunch and my daughters nap.  She slept for 4 hours.  When my my daughter woke up at 4, my wife dropped her and myself off at the Zoo, while she went to pick out Mother's Day cards.

She picked us up at 5:30pm.  We went home and my wife changed into walking clothes while I started dinner. I put dinner into the oven and we went for our 3 mile walk.  Everyday we are getting better at this.  Today we did our all time best at 52 minutes flat.

Anyways, we went home and I finished dinner which was chicken schnitzel and ranch baked potatoes.

Then it was time for daughters bath and blogging time.

I recently joined a poetry website called Allpoetry.com.  This website is quite good and I suggest it to others who want write, read, and share poetry.

Till tomorrow,

Thomas

#142 - Hard Fall

Emotions high and unreliable,
Falling in love,
Well, you have to land somewhere

Warning: There is no more poetry past this point.  You have been warned.

Today is May 6.  I missed yesterday and I only missed todays.  I am not feeling good.  Oh well.  This one is short, but I'll be back tomorrow.

Till then,

Thomas

#141 - I sing

I sing the song of sixpence
I sing the song of youth
I sing the song of idleness
Sadly, I sing the song of truth.

#140 - Whipporrwills

I hear the call of whippoorwills
Another day, another death

We leave the love lost personage
We leave the stricken youth
We leave the way of Peter
We leave all progress.

I hear the call of whippoorwills
Today, maybe today.

#139 - Divergent Thoughts

Silence filters all the trees,
Stoic companions dropping dead.

the night I fell
A tree worth destruction
Knowing the knowledge the one-eyed earned
Without the way of swans and egrets passing
the fevered expansion of our desires.

Greed, the great levelor,
Encapsulates and capitulates the mind
With thousand splemdid images

All without remorse.

Warning:  There is no poetry past this part.  You have been warned.

Today is May 4, May the Fourth Be with You.  (I love it.)

Today started out rainy and gross, but by midday it was very sunny.  My wife took my daughter and myself to the local plant store and she purchased gifts for my mother, her mother, and my grandmother.  My daughter and her painted the pots for the plants and tomorrow they will plant them.  My wife is great.

So we are training for a 5k and today we cut 4 minutes off our 5k...of course it still took us 56 minutes.  Oh well.

Till tomorrow,

Thomas

#138 - Random Acts of Immaturity

Hot fuzziness encroaches all things
Smelling the sweet sweat of idiocy
Maintaining that monotony remains the spice of life

Asking whether the love of macabre is too hipster,
I am reminded that autonomy should be a privilege not a right.
All things asked are never answered except with improper terminology.

Never give up and never surrender,
Small changes make big differences.

Remembers the immortal words of Socrates, "I drank what?"

Warning: the above lines of random "poetry" are not very good, but it is poetry.  The remainder of the blogs is not poetry of any kind.  You have been warned.

Today is May 3rd.  I missed yesterdays blog post.  I was so tired and when I remembered to post the blog, it was already today.

Never mind, fast forward, rewind.  Today is May 3rd.  I had to work on Saturday today, lame, but my volunteers were nice and didn't keep me all day.  Normally my wife goes to work on Saturdays and I stay home with my daughter.  However, on the days that I have to work on Saturday, my daughter comes with me.

Today was nice.  After both my wife and myself got off of work we participated in some May Day celebrations and ended the day with my daughter watching Disney's Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy.  The movie was pretty good, as far as Tinkerbell movies go and it did the trick.  My daughter liked it and was able to go to bed without much of a fuss.

Until tomorrow.

Thomas
